Internet Communications for Ministries

2 John 1:12 (New International Version)

I have much to write to you, but I do not want to use paper and ink. Instead, I hope to visit you and talk with you face to face, so that our joy may be complete.

Most of the time one medium of communication may not be adequate. The writer of the above scripture found himself in a situation like that. He did not want to make use of paper and ink, that means he had been using that to communicate with his audience….he preferred to see them face to face.

I don’t know your present means of communications, however, if you have not been using the Internet and its tools like twitter, facebook, linkedin, blog, etc, I advice you to embrace it for effective communications.

Importantly, as Ministers of the Gospel, the audience we face today are digital generation. They are digitally conscious, they are adept to electronics. The youths in particular are active on the Internet.

Facebook and youtube for examples allow Ministers of the Gospel to interact with their members/audience, form relationships with them, build new networks across the globe, and see how the youths behave or socialize on the net, post videos and texts. Video clips of messages can be uploaded to facebook and twitter.

So for your joy to be complete, the use of the Internet should be effectively embraced and used for the propagation of the Good News.
